Welcome to Miss Barry’s class!

Hope you all had a fantastic holiday! It is lovely to see you all back safe and sound. This year we are very lucky to have Miss Simpson as our teaching assistant. We have got lots of exciting things planned. Watch this space!!

OUR UNICEF CLASS CHARTER

In our class, we CARE, SHARE and ALWAYS do our best!

We have the right to be safe. (UNICEF article 19)

We have the right to learn. (UNICEF article 28)

We have the right to learn play. (UNICEF article 31)

General Information

We have homework in year 1/2 and it is given out on a Friday. Each Friday we have a spelling  and mental maths test and the results are written in homework books.

We also give out English or maths homework each Friday and completed homework should be returned to school on the following Wednesday.

Reading

Children read with a member of staff each week and we ask that parents and carers listen to your child read every day for at least ten minutes. Please sign your child’s reading record when they have read with you. Reading EVERY day for a short period makes a huge difference!

Snacks

At playtime in the morning, children are offered fruit as a snack. You are welcome to send your child with a snack for playtime, however we encourage children to choose fruit as a healthy snack.
